The M200 is one of fountain pens' best-kept secrets — a German-made, hand-assembled piston filler with fit and finish that punches well above its price. The Brown Marble dresses it in a rich, pearlescent marbled resin with warm brown-beige striations over a deep brown base, making every pen's pattern slightly unique. An amber ink window near the grip section lets you keep an eye on your ink level without sacrificing the classic Pelikan silhouette. This pen requires bottled ink — no cartridge option — which is part of the appeal.
Why It's Special
- Pearlescent brown marble resin with a unique pattern on every pen — no two are identical
- Amber-tinted ink viewing window at the grip section for at-a-glance ink level monitoring
- 24K gold-plated trim throughout: cap band, piston knob ring, and the iconic pelican beak clip
- Shares the same classic design, piston mechanism, and form factor as the Souverän M400 at roughly half the price
- Nib units are fully interchangeable with the M400 line — drop in a 14K gold nib upgrade anytime, no modification needed
- Slim and lightweight profile works equally well for smaller hands uncapped or larger hands with the cap posted
- Every pen is hand-assembled in Germany and individually inspected before leaving the factory

Wasn't sure I would like it, but glad I took a chance on it. Great size, great nib; even reverse writing works well. I got the (F)ine nib which has a great tipping and writes a slightly thicker (F)ine which I like. Cap uncaps with half a turn so is super convenient to keep in my shirt pocket for quick notes.
Super handsome brown pen with the brown swirl material having a visual depth to it in person that I didn't expect; nice! I'd been wanting a brown fountain pen and very glad I chose this one after seeing Blake's high praise of it. This is my first/only Pelikan fountain pen and glad I got it.
I have an Aurora Optima, Edison Collier Grande, Pilot Custom Urushi and a Lamy Safari, and agree with Blake that this Pelikan M200 really does punch above it's weight!
